''Private Line'' is the debut solo album by Gerald Levert, following his tenure with the group LeVert. It was released on October 15, 1991, and reached number one on the Top R&B Albums chart where it spent two weeks in 1992. It also topped the Top Heatseekers album chart and peaked at #48 on the ''Billboard'' 200. It spawned four singles: the title track, "School Me (#3 R&B)," "Can U Handle It" (#9 R&B) and "Baby Hold On to Me" (a duet with his father, Eddie Levert).
